VOLUMES
The George Mason International Law Journal publishes two times a year. All issues contain two to three professional pieces and one to two student notes from journal members. For each issue, the Articles team seeks articles that make a significant, original contribution to international law scholarship. The Journal considers articles on a wide array of legal topics, including comparative and transnational law.
Submission Guidelines
Format and Length
- The Journal strongly prefers electronic submission in Microsoft Word.
- Submissions should be double-spaced in Times New Roman with one-inch margins.
- Footnotes should conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (21st ed. 2020).
- The Journal strongly encourages submissions of 25,000 words or less, including footnotes.
Materials
Submissions must include the author’s resume/CV and the article to be considered.

The Journal accepts submissions through Scholastica, the mail, the website, or email. If submitting a hard copy, send to 3301 Fairfax Drive, Arlington, Virginia 22201.
Due to the number of submissions, the Journal is unable to respond to each submission.
FORUM
The George Mason International Law Journal Forum publishes short, original pieces of timely scholarship. The Forum publishes essays, shorter articles, and replies to articles. These peices are subject to the Journal’s standard review process.
Submission Guidelines

- The Journal accepts submissions from practitioners, scholars, and George Mason University law students.
- The Journal strongly encourages shorter submissions, traditionally less than 10,000 words, including footnotes.
- Submissions should conform to the Journal’s standard formatting requirements.
Materials
Submissions must include the author’s resume/CV, the abstract, and the article to be considered.
